Well, some how we made it here. Striking the balance is now airborne and on route to Bangkok. It's certainly been a full on few weeks getting all our ducks in a line. Finalising work commitments, packing, shifting, and preparing our house as a rental. There have been tearful farewells, including dropping our beautiful feline Ted off for a year with a kind cat loving couple. Thank you to everyone who have helped us get off the ground. As a family, we are planning to live on NZ $50 per day for accommodation and food. We aim to make the most of opportunities as they arise so will have fluid plans as much as possible. We are looking forward to being present as a family, listening to each other, and living an enriched life with just the basics around us. We believe in travelling light. Normally we take 3 changes of clothes, but for this trip we have allowed 4 as we are away for so long. I have a well stoked medical kit, a bag of travel games, snorkeling gear and school folders for the children. We also have electronics, which is new for us. A laptop for me to blog and teach with, and tablets for the children to access the library service and their math's programme.
